Terms of Payment for Non-Local Buyers
With the purchase of in stock items, we require payment on the day of purchase in the form of an accepted credit card. Money orders or certified checks are accepted.
With the purchase of an item that needs to be ordered from the factory, we require a deposit of 50% of the purchase price of the furniture. When we receive the item in our warehouse and it is ready for shipment, the remaining balance owed on your order will be due. Please note that the cost of delivery is not included in the selling price and is collected at the time of delivery by the carrier, unless otherwise noted.
Deliveries in the Area
We provide quality, in-home delivery to the surrounding area for a small fee. Delivery outside our area and out of state is available.
Out of State Delivery
Delivery times quoted are ESTIMATES based on the manufacturer’s lead-time and the delivery service’s schedule. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE SHIP DATES. The buyer understands that it is in our best interest to provide delivery in a timely manner. Items will be scheduled by our delivery service. Once the item is picked up by the delivery service, they will call and inform the buyer of a projected delivery day and set up a delivery time. Your order will be fully inspected and set up in your home by experienced delivery personnel. Payment for delivery will be to the delivery service on the day of delivery. Payment must be in the form of cash or money order. No checks or credit cards will be accepted.
Compton Furniture takes pride in the products we offer. While we will carefully inform you on the manufacturer’s reputation, quality, and design, the actual choice and selection is the customer’s responsibility. Although we cannot guarantee the customer’s complete satisfaction in his or her selection, Compton Furniture does not accept returns.
As soon as you place your order, we begin the procurement process. Therefore we are not able to accept cancellations. We may at our discretion, make an exception in which case a restocking fee of 25% of the purchase price plus shipping will be applied. No orders “on approval” accepted. You will be notified as soon as possible if the manufacturer discontinues an item or fabric.
It is important that upon delivery you immediately carefully and thoroughly inspect the items being delivered to you. If any thing is damaged or defective, please make a note of the damage on the bill of lading. Damaged items are the responsibility of the delivery service. Please begin inspecting the furniture while the driver is there and note any damage on the delivery receipt with your signature. In case of freight damage, a claim must be filed with the delivery service for either repair of the item or replacement.
